The time has come around again where the green leaves turn to a beautiful red-orange and the air becomes crisp as a new season begins. While everyone is sad to see summer go, in my opinion fall is the most beautiful season of them all. The entire world around us changes color. With this season change comes a wardrobe change. I’ve compiled a list of several clothing trends I am excited about seeing this fall.

  1. The sweater dress

T-shirt dresses were a huge trend this summer and we came back to school seeing nearly everyone wearing a t-shirt dress.  As we transition into fall, another alternative for the t-shirt dress has been provided: The sweater dress. It is almost the exact same thing but made with a sweater material more suited for the months of fall. These dresses can be both dressed up and dressed down and paired with tights for extra warmth.

  1. Army jackets

A classic piece of outerwear for the fall months, army jackets are making a return, but in a new way. Though the classic olive green army jacket will remain a timeless piece in everyone’s fall wardrobe, more colors of the same style are becoming popular. The two colors I have seen the most of are navy blue and tan which are both neutral colors perfectly suited for fall.

  1. Boyfriend jeans

Boyfriend jeans started to make a bigger appearance last year. However, they have never caught on as much as they have this year. For those of you who may not know, boyfriend jeans are a pair of jeans with a larger fit typically with lots of rips and holes in them. The goal is to, well, make it look as if you are wearing your boyfriend’s jeans. As unattractive as they sound, they bring a relaxed grunge vibe to any look. They are even being dressed up by many celebrities. Being both comfy and cute, boyfriend jeans are definitely one of the top trends for this fall.

  1. Flannels

I bet you saw this one coming. Flannels are a classic piece for any fall wardrobe. With them being such a huge trend, so many different colors and styles are being made into flannels. There are now flannels with hoods or lace, and you can buy them in a variety of different materials. It is another piece of clothing that is incredibly comfortable, super versatile, and always cute.

  1. Converse

Converse shoes are a type of shoe I feel can be worn all year round. They are an essential in everyone’s wardrobe simply because they are so versatile. Converse are perfect for fall because they look great to wear with leggings as well as jeans. They come in a variety of colors, but if you are searching for a new pair of shoes to wear on a daily basis; I recommend the black or white.

  1. Knit scarves

Knit scarves are one of the highlights of the weather growing colder. Scarves are a great accessory for the winter months because they have the ability to pull an entire outfit together while keeping you warm. Scarves are made in a variety of different materials, some being lighter and some more made for warmth. For the fall and winter months, my favorite type of scarves are knit and wool scarves. These scarves are a bit more ¨chunky¨ than your average scarf. But pair it with a plain t-shirt and some leggings and you’ve got yourself a relaxed fall outfit.

  1. Anything with the colors: maroon, olive, burnt orange, or tan.

The absolute best part of the seasons changing is having an all new color palette to work with. For fall, my favorite colors are maroon, olive, burnt orange, and tan. There are tons of ways these colors can be incorporated into your everyday looks. You could simply wear a tan sweater, an olive green army jacket, or even go bold and wear a maroon lipstick.
