Movies are something that everybody is thankful for being invented. Not only are they fun to just relax on the couch and enjoy a good story, but they are interesting to watch. Sometimes there are days where the mood is just down and not really feeling like yourself, so why not watch sad movies to make us feel even more sad? These five movies are not only sad and heartbreaking, but show us that these stories can happen in life and to us. Go grab a few friends, make some buttery popcorn and have a movie night watching these movies!

  1. The Pursuit of Happiness

Will Smith and his son, Jaden Smith, play a very deep role in this movie. Will, being a single father, has little income from his work and goes through many hardships. Will and Jaden finds themselves struggling to keep up with the rent and forced to go into different shelters. In the movie, Will turns out to be a very smart man, he’s capable and luckily gets an intern job at a prestigious firm. The only drawback is he doesn’t get paid. Will’s only goal is to make sure his son gets a better life than what he had to go through. Throughout the movie you will feel your heart hurt and get mad and ask, why does this happen to him. This movie will make you cry to see the hardships of life.

  1. Marley and Me

If you have never heard or seen this movie before, have you ever lived? This movie shows you the reason behind why everybody needs a dog in their lives.
