Bulldog hour is important to students in more than one way

By Hailey Gillian

There has been rumor that Bulldog Hour is not coming back, and as a student I understand that many other schools don’t have opportunities like Bulldog Hour and that it is a privilege to have. I honestly think that it is ridiculous to take something away because not everyone is using it how it was intended. Did the school system honestly think that every student would use it for its intended purpose? If so, I feel that the school system has highly overestimated teenage high school students. However, there is another side to it. Did you ever think that even if we as students aren’t using bulldog hour to visit with teachers that there are other reasons why it’s useful? Some students have jobs, sports, or even just massive amounts of homework that prevents them from having a social life, earning good grades, or just plain old being happy and enjoying high school while it lasts. So I feel that an extra hour one day a week would be the least that the school could do to help them have better students. The Spectator interviewed four very different students to show why they need Bulldog Hour, and how it helps them become better students.

Daniela Padilla is a sophomore cross country and track runner, and is taking honors and AP classes.
