Fright night movie extravaganza

Movies have a natural talent of sparking emotions of all types while we see the events unfold. But none of these emotions can compare to the aspect of sheer terror when your worst nightmares come to life on film. So get some popcorn, sit back, relax, and allow yourself to be spooked by these ten terrifyingly enjoyable movies.

 

1. Saw series by James Wan and Leigh Whannel

Have a strong stomach? For those who do, press on and give these movies a chance to frighten and leave chills right down to the bone. Will the captured ever be set free, or will they meet their gruesome and unfortunate demise?

 

2. Halloween by John Carpenter

On a night as innocent as Halloween, little will people suspect that anything can go wrong on a night filled with fright and joy. Follow the journey of a family celebrating a night of fright while also being terrorized by a psychopathic madman with a mask as his identity and a knife as his weapon of choice. It will surely make everyone lock their doors from now on.

 

3. Friday the 13th by Victor Miller

Summer camp: a paradise for children of all ages, but in Jason’s case, it was his worst nightmare. After rising from his watery grave, he is only consumed with the ideas of vengeance upon Camp Crystal Lake. Watching a movie like this can really change the movie goers mind about camping in the near future and is a must see for everyone who has a craving for slasher films.

 

4. Children of the Korn by Fritz Kiersch

Beware of who walks behind the rows when watching this spine tingling film of its time. Take part on the journey of a couple who travel through a small ghost town, little do they know that its inhabitants aren’t so innocent looking children, but crazed cult followers. Will they ever escape with their lives?

 

5. The Shining by Stanley Kubrick

You would think that a hotel would be a safe location to rest and rejuvenate the body physically and mentally. But this family’s trip is far from being called a vacation as they are terrorized by spirits haunting the building. This leads to the father’s spark of insanity and murderous rage. Beware of the things that go bump in the night, my friends.

 

6. Cujo by Lewis Teague

Our beloved companions can turn from man’s best friend to our worst nightmare in a matter of days. In this movie, watch as a family goes on a camping trip to relax and have the time of their lives. But what they don’t realize is that they will be in for a hell of a surprise.

 

7. The Exorcist by William Friedkin

Ever wonder if there is evil beyond our physical world? Turns out in this classic horror flick our worst nightmares become reality as we watch a terrifying account of a girl possessed by a demon. Will she ever become her innocent self again?

 

8. Silence of the Lambs by Jonathan Demme

Ever wonder how a serial killer thinks? What are his motives? Does he ever have a conscious thought? Find out the answer to all these questions and more as we follow the journey of an FBI detective and a serial killer on a rampage. Will the hunter become the hunted?

 

9. Scream by Wes Craven

Ever have a passion for films, even having an interest in horror can spark fear in the eyes of others as you watch this cult classic. Discover what it really means to be stalked by a killer first hand and how even the fact that you don’t like horror movies could hurt your chances of life.

 

10. Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock

This innovative movie classic was the first of its kind to bring the idea of horror into the movie industry. Despite its apparent attribute of the movie being black and white, don’t let it turn you away from this frightening but satisfying movie experience. A definite must see for all horror junkies and movie addicts alike.
