After four years as a top-selling book Mrs. Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children has finally been adapted into a thrilling and amazing movie.
Graphics: Throughout the entire movie, the graphics were constant and very crisp. The Hollows were designed very well and was a good mix between realistic and cartoonish. The darkish settings and the design for the house and stages were all great. The CGI was done perfectly and the dark layout gave it the perfect touch to finish it off. Sometimes though it looked like the scene was just done second hand but these moments were very few so it did not affect the movie much.
Rating: The movie did great in all its aspect. Box office rated Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children #1 saving its movie decline. Amazon rated it a 4.5, which is a better rating than the iPhone 6. It also has a 7/10 rating in IMB and a 68 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes right after it was released.
Plot: The overall movie followed the plot of the book very well. It showed all the important moments giving the same as the book did. The only thing it didn’t correspond to was a few minor pieces of information, which did not alter the feel of the movie at all. The movie matched the book’s plot perfectly and gave a very enjoyable feeling of nostalgia to the people who have already read the book.
Pacing: The pace of the movie was a good mix between fast and slow. It gave an amazing dialogue during the slow parts as well as great action during the fast parts. It also did not bore or lose people as it kept its pace constant. It slows down after a major action scene to calm people down just to excite the audience again with another amazing scene. Its pace was similar to the book, fast enough to keep people interested and not too fast so it does not lose the attention of the viewer
