Top 10 places to go for spring break

By Emilee Ivan

In exactly 44 days Batavia High school will be letting all students free from schooling for exactly one week. Some high schoolers stay home, relax and unwind. Others, however, want to leave reality and take a trip to a remarkable place. There are millions of places that you could travel to, but here are ten amazingly different places that you could check off your bucket list.

  1. St. Petersburg, Fla.
For high schoolers, coming back with a glow is a must. Sitting by the calming ocean, biking on the beach or parasailing over the water are all things spring breakers could do to come back with a good story. Meeting up with friends in the sunny state of Florida would create amazing memories.
  2. Los Angeles, Cal.
Have you ever wanted to walk with the stars or shop at the most high-end stores? If you are thinking yes then Los Angeles is for you. There are endless activities you could do to fully enjoy L.A. Start your day walking down Hollywood Boulevard, where it is normal to look down while you walk just to find your favorite celebrity. Then for some shopping hit Rodeo Drive. High-class stores are a blast even when you aren’t spending any money. In the active city of L.A, there are adventures waiting to happen at every corner.
  3. Rome, Italy
History is something that the world takes pride in. Architecture is a huge role in history. In Rome, culture can be found at every corner. From visiting the ancient Colosseum to the first ever dome built, Rome has it all. Learning and experiencing Rome would be a spring break to remember.
  4. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
As winter drags on, many people are in need of a sunny, cheerful place to enjoy life. If you need a break from winter then grab your passport and a swimsuit and travel to Punta Cana. Once arriving there, your adventure begins. If you like to snorkel, then there are many fascinating sea creatures that you could find. Spotting a stingray or a nurse shark would be terrifying and intriguing but after that experience, you could conquer anything. If snorkeling isn’t for you there are plenty of beaches where you could soak up the sun. Punta Cana is the place to take a chance and create new memories.
  5. Maui, Hawaii
Many people over spring break want to stay in the United States because it is only a week. If you are that person, then you should definitely travel to Hawaii. As you walk off the place you will find a happy island with a breathtaking view. During the day you will have many adventures which could include walking on the black sand, Hulu dancing or even ziplining. Then you could end your day with a tropical sunset slowly disappearing behind the ocean. After going to Hawaii you will feel relaxed and sad that you now have to sit in a classroom.
  6. Fort Worth, Texas
Our world is obsessed with art and music. A wonderful place with amazing festivals of all kinds is Fort Worth. Here you will find modern, abstract art with a flare of the country. In the center is Downtown Old School, a place that shows the life of a cowboy. From rodeos to cattle walks to art, Fort Worth has it all.
  7. Paris, France

A beautiful place you could travel to this spring break is Paris. Take a walk down the quiet streets and see the wonderful sights of France. One of the most iconic things to see is the Eiffel Tower. Its beauty will make you never want to leave. Not only that, but the food there is amazing. Fresh bread is always being made. Seeing France and all of its charm will give you perfect spring break memories.

  8. Denver, Colo.
Some people want to leave the cold weather as soon as possible, but others embrace it. In Denver, the mountains are tall and snowy, perfect for skiing. Before you go down, you must go up, which means altitudes. One tip: eat as many bananas as you can because they prevent altitude sickness! Although the altitudes are changing, the experience of skiing is a must. The rush going down is incredible. This spring break would be perfect to ski down the slopes in Denver.
  9. Las Vegas, Nev.
Seeing the name Vegas might have confused you, but there is more than you think in the exciting city of Vegas. The city that never sleeps is a true statement when you are talking about Vegas. At night, the Vegas strip is lit up with millions of lights. The stores and shops are huge and fun. But that’s not all. In Las Vegas, there are beautiful red canyons that stretch on for miles. These canyons are perfect for hiking. This spring break you could live a little by going to Las Vegas.
  10. Kenya, Africa
One of the coolest places that I have always wanted to go to is Africa. Africa is where an adventure awaits. There you could see an abundance of wildlife, from elephants to giraffes to even lions! Just make sure you don’t get too close. According to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, there are over 95 species of mammals and 570 kinds of birds found in Africa. If you like learning about animals and seeing them up close, then I would recommend going to Africa.
