REVIEW: ‘Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’ takes gaming to the next level

By Garret Sims

The Star Wars saga has been a pop-culture phenomenon for over 40 years, and even people who haven’t seen the movies are familiar with the storylines and characters. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the newest Star Wars multi-platform game, and it has quickly become a fan favorite earning a 9 out of 10 rating on Steam.

People should buy Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order because the storyline, character development over the course of the game, and high-definition graphics easily immerse players in the battle between good and evil.

The main character is fallen Padawan Cal Kestis, who survived Order 66, and is trying to help defeat the Empire. Cal combines forces with other survivors while simultaneously completing his Jedi training. He has the ability to “use the force” to move objects on his own, and stop objects and people who are in motion. This is helpful because it buys time so he can make his next move.

Another interesting feature is the map. It tells players where they have visited and helps them explore different areas of the planets while on player’s quests. By taking time to backtrack and move around the game players can add customizations and personalize their character. This includes clothing, lightsaber designs, and changing the spaceship and droid colors. Players can also increase their skills and gain experience points (XP) as players roam around.

Many people enjoy this kind of gaming style because it allows them to have more freedom. They can learn and sharpen their skills without added pressure, so they will be better prepared for the next engagement. For example, instead of fighting a Sith, a member of the dark side, players can practice fighting the much slower Stormtroopers. It is a chance to try different combinations of fighting techniques to see which works best for many players.

The game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order allows players to assume the identity of a lesser-known character and essentially create their own storyline in this popular saga. This is an exciting way to step into a game and feel a part of the action! It is why many people are giving it such high reviews and are recommending it to their friends.
