Ten things to do during quarantine!

By Emma Bechtle

As quarantine and social distancing drag on, you might find yourself and your family going stir crazy at home.

Have you already watched all your favorite tv shows and movies?

Despite how it may feel, there are plenty of activities to try…

Cook. Is your favorite restaurant closed? Try to recreate your favorite dish! You’d be surprised how fun cooking can be.

Make some art. Paint, color, draw or build a paper airplane. Want a challenge? Try to recreate a Bob Ross painting!

Read. When’s the last time you actually read a book? Find one that interests you. Pick one up and learn something new.

Write. Get creative with this. Maybe it’s a poem, a short story, a song, or a rap.

Exercise. Let’s be honest, we never have time for this. But now we do. At least go on a walk, bring your dog or your family. Try some yoga or stretch!

Get outside. Fresh air and sunshine are so good for you. I suggest buying a hammock.

Organize. Maybe it’s your closet, or garage, or kitchen. Clean it out and rearrange it!

Play a game. There are all kinds of fun games to play online. Or go old school and get out a real board game, Uno, or play charades with your family.

Make a garden. This can be super simple. Just experiment, throw some seeds in the ground and see what happens. Plant some veggies, they’re good for you.

Connect with people. Call your friends. Check up on the family that you’re away from. Someone you haven’t talked to in a while. Write a letter!

Stay busy, but also take time to relax and take care of yourself. Try new things and learn something new every day.
