Batavia Boys Lacrosse Preview

 Head Coach: Connor Legorreta

This is Coach Legorreta’s first year coaching boys Batavia lacrosse. He hasn’t ever coached or played lacrosse before. He is an active coach for boys Batavia Football.

Last season: Last season, this team ended up going 9-7 with their last game losing to Hinsdale Central. This Lacrosse team lost some seniors last season, this includes Luke Reimer which was starting on defense along with their goalie.

Outlook For The Season: The boys had a good first game, winning 12-8 against Crystal Lake South. This team is looking to go to the playoffs this year and have a successful season even without an experienced coach. This team is hoping to win many of the upcoming games and stay with a positive record like last year.

Top Returnees: There are plenty of strong players returning this year. These include names such as Mitch Grometer, Griffin Robertson, Ben Costello, Jack David and Aiden Tutt. Tutt is a big cause of this team’s success, winning face-offs and scoring many goals. Jack David is one of the big reasons the defense is so successful. This player can run a defense, and get the ball back when needed to.

The top Teams in the Area/League: Benet Academy, Glenbard West, Loyola Academy, and York are big competitors in this League. All of these teams finished top 10 in the IHSA Lacrosse league last year.
